New Pictures

A few weeks ago we went to a park to take some family pictures. Unfortunately, portraits with a ton of little kids don't often go as planned. We got home, sorted through the pictures and decided we'd have to schedule another photo-shoot.

Fast forward a few weeks... there is NO WAY I'm dressing everyone up AGAIN, and doing everyone's hair, and trying to find a time when it's not raining to get out and do pictures AGAIN.

So, we went back through our first photo shoot, and found the best picture we could. You can see this portrait as our new header for this blog. I kind of like it now, because it's the epitome of our life right now. :)

Good enough. :)

As a bonus, here's one picture we got from the photo shoot where everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing. I did crop my mom out when I had this one printed up... but I didn't want to for this online version.

Thanks to my Mom for trying to help entertain the kids, and thanks to my Dad for handling the camera for us. :)

PS. Check the sidebar for new pics of J1 & J2... they're now 1 year old!

Your kids are all so cute! The new 1 year old pics of the boys are SO STINKIN' CUTE!

There is something to be said for capturing the "reality" of your family, even if it doesn't seem to be picture perfect. I like that you are able to smile in the midst of the chaos. You have always seemed good at that. I admire that about you.

Thanks Mindy! I really appreciate that. My Dad did a great job taking pictures for us this year, but I almost wish we were in Utah so you could have done them. You did such a great job last year!

Before I read your post, I saw that pic and just thought it was SOOOO cute!!! I'm glad you kept it even though you wanted it perfect at first. I love "real" pics and I think that just shows a really cute, happy family.

Also love the ones of the kids holding hands. So cute!!! Where in the heck were they taken? What a beautiful park!

I wouldn't have tried again either. I think it's very cute, I think it may be impossible to get a good picture with 5 kids unless you have mad photo shop skills. My favorite picture from our pictures this year is actually the funny one where no one is looking! 2 years ago we paid someone to take our pictures and she photo shopped so everyone was looking and had decent looks on their faces, but Allan hates to pay for pictures. Just think, someday they will all be older and know how to take a picture and you will have amazing pictures.

Thanks guys!

Linds, they were taken at Rood Bridge Park, the same one where Stacey & Kyle had their engagement pictures done. It's kind of "the place" to go for pictures around here, because there are so many good settings. Michael also had his senior pictures taken there a couple weeks before and Dad said there were about 9 different photographers there all doing photo shoots at the same time. Thankfully, it's a big place, so there wasn't much overlap.
How CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! I just read all of the posts written within the last few months (I'm sooo far behind). CUTE CUTE CUTE pics!!! What an adorable family :). Seriously-adorable!
